Sorry to tell you this but mood rings are not real. There is no test that can tell what emotion or what your current emotional state is other than possibly a brain scan to show variations in electrical current. Mood rings are based off body temp and will usually turn a dark blue. It's not broken, it's fake.

A mood ring is a novelty ring which changes color in response to body temperature, using a thermochromic liquid crystal. A form of biofeedback, they supposedly indicated the temperment of the wearer, indicated by the ring's color. Mood rings were a fad whose popularity peaked in the United States in the 1970s, and they are now seen as an icon of 1970s culture.

I don really think it changes colour like how you change mood.
It actually changes due to the weather and your body temp..

All mood rings do is respond to heat. So if you place your mood ring in the fridge, it changes color. But it won't reallu detect your mood.

They don't work.
They work according to the temperature of your body.
Finger to be exact.

Blow on it it turns a different color.
Rub it in your hands it turn a different color.

It works like that.

My wife has one. When she's happy, it's blue. When she's unhappy it leaves a red mark on my forehead.

They are not real.
Think about it, how the hell can a ring tell you what mood you're in?
