*EDIT:

i just remembered they rerun niptuck at 11. so you could watch svu at 10 and niptuck at 11

I had that problem last year! Luckily this year I got Time Warner and I can DVR svu. Basically Olivia runs into a raped girl at a hospital who had her head shaved and was beaten up. The girl runs away but Olivia follows her to her house and steals her underwear for evidence so she can test the DNA. The captain gets pissed because she didn't have permission for the clothes. That FBI woman came back (from the episode where she pretended to be a white supremacist and stabler got shot) and that girl who was raped was her confidential informant. They try to help her, but then discover she is working for a green peace organization who are violent and want to make some waves. the girl kills the man who raped her. olivia goes undercover with this girl to try and infiltrate the organization by accompanying her on an undercover operation to blow up a building. but the girl screws her over and the fbi lady ends up shooting her.

then the fbi takes olivia away to go undercover and stick with the organization because no one blew her cover. shell be gone for awhile, and stabler will get a new partner

Even if you don't want to invest in TIVO most homes in America have more then one television. Would it be possible to tape one and watch the other? VHS' don't cost that much nor do their players.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were looking for a big synopsis. I was just trying to offer a solution without having to spend too much money. As great of a show L&O is you can also get two minute recaps on NBC now I believe.

jeboshea is right. Don't know where benson will be, but she was "obviously" pushed by the FBI to assist them on this case. Her phone was disconnected when Stabler tried to contact her.

I'm like you - I have to make decisions. I have more than 1 television, but I only have cable on one. If DH and I aren't watching the same show, we're watching opposite stuff. These ppl who assume we can all get DVR, TIVO or just watch on another telly are spoiled. These things are luxury, and some of us have to make decisions.

I will say that SVU is one of my top 3 shows, and I don't know what I'd do if I had to choose between that and, say, ER.

Evil Red:

I am happy to see that you have received many reasonably intelligent answers, and a good synopsis of the program. If every thing else fails, don't despair. You can always get to watch Law and Order, S. V. U., because of that great American invention: the summer reruns.

Get Tivo, or one of the other digital video recorders...you can record one show while you watch the other.
