I know this sounds kind of skeezy, but honestly I just bought a lot of clothes for school, and I have a couple sweatshirts and the lady at the counter must've forgot to take them off. The alarm didn't go off when I left the store (I don't even know if it has one), but... I need to get those things off, and I don't think I'll have time tomorrow to stop at the mall before I have to drive to college for the year. My dad tried with some random tools to no avail. Anybody know how to remove them? They're the offwhite rectangular ones with the pin connecting it to the shirt, no ink or anything. Thanks

Go back to the store with the receipt and tell them what happened.

You will need to go to the store. there could be ink in the tag and it will spoil clothes. Each store has a special device to remove these tags. The alarms did not go off because it wasn't a sensor tag. Make the time to go to store and bring receipt store will not remove it without it! I am a former LPM (Loss Prevention Manager) and I know of what I speak. You could remove the device but better safe than sorry.

most aren't for 'alarms', just a nuisancee so u don't want to steal it and worry about this scenerio later.
working in retail myself, sorry, not going to tell u the trick, but if u can't get back to the same store but do have the price/store tags intact on the garments and receipts you can take it to any other store that has the same security tags and they MIGHT remove it for you when u show them aforementioned tags/receipts. we have been known to do it before as a show of good will.

The EF toenail cutters will do the trick. I've been there. The lady at the counter didn;t remve my tags before. It's a pain trying every tool to try and get those things off.
The EF Toenail Cutters are 4 inches long, and made from the finest raw materials: tempered stainless steel used for surgical instruments and hardened for extra-strength. These high quality nail cutters have a double spring to ease the pressure needed to cut the nails. Made of stainless steel the EF Toenail Cutters resist rust and can be sterilized. The quality and durability of these nail cutters cannot be beat. They are the same nail cutters used by many podiatrists. Instruments of this quality are not sold in pharmacies.
At the link provided is the picture of the EF toenail cutter.

Make time and take the clothing back to the store, show them your receipt, and have them take the tag off. Don't risk ruining your clothes.

Well if you try to remove it yourself, you will damage the clothing.
And remember, those tags are the property of the store.
