Are you in Rainbow or Eastern Star? I wish poster could post again but yahoo system doesn't allow it.
Anyway I hope you stick with it. I think it is cool more females get involved. Skull and bones are open to females I am surprised FMs are not. I guess I understand why to a point but I think girls can handle it and ma offer a nice offset to things.
Anyway I believe Co-Masonry is oen to females if you were ever interested. There is a guy from Co-Masonry on here I hope he sees this maybe he can offer a tidbit on that.
Your question on hand. Well some people could care less but you may see many people against it. It's ok only understanding will solve that.

worked for 3 yrs as a tender, and a mason. It's hard work like throwing a cube of block UP and then building the second floor wall. Ya get strong and there is appreciation in seeing something solidly built when walking away. Coming back after years is a beautiful sight, esp working with cut stone, even driveways and poured concrete. Worked with GC12345,Fl. Sunstream Builders Davie Fl late 80's

The Masons REALLY intrigue me! My grandpa was a Mason. So many wonderful people in our history have been Masons (Washington, Franklin, Voltaire, etc), plus they have good underlying principles...from what I have learned. The church rejected them because of the Masons' growing power and influence, so they spread rumors about devil-worship, etc...and killed many of them. I've also heard that America is a sort of "masonic experiment"...cool, huh? I would love to learn more about them!

My father was a mason and went on to become a Shriner. Most people who say bad things about the masons, know nothing about them.

I don't really know much about masons. What would be wrong with them? I thought they were all men? In your little photo, it looks like you are female.

Yes several of the founding fathers were Masons.
I think it has always been a way for people with similar beliefs and objectives to socialize and network..
