I love to watch my fish, and so fascinating to see them with each other. I have Tropical and Gold fish, but special types and sizes. The water falls also is relaxing. What kind of fish do you like the best and do them relax you too?

Is watching fish swim, relaxing and soothing to your stress?
Absolutely, Scientific studies have been done to prove it.
I used to have several tanks,
I prefered having a School of Neons with some Angels
i also had a tank with just Ciclids.
Tanks that have waterfalls or any moving objects are fun too.
I especially loved having a tank with lots of vegetation where the fish could hide. when i was very young i used to pretend that i was scuba diving in a south american river trying to find the fish.
Just thinking about it relaxes me to this very day.

Yes, it is soothing to watch beautiful fish swimming around in the tranquil blueness of an aquarium. That it until you think about how much it costs to set up and maintain the tanks, worrying what you'll do if the power goes out, and best of all what would get ruined if the tank leaks onto the living room floor. All that said, I keep marine tanks and do enjoy them. They are however alot of work and expense. I get my enjoyment from the success I have keeping the fish and invertebrates doing well in my tanks. It is more of a personal challenge than a relaxation thing for me.

Yes, the relaxing effect of watching fish has been substantiated by study. (as if it needed to be)
For some years I helped maintain & then took over a 135 gallon fish pond with goldfish in it. Merely the babbling sound of the water splashing out of the filter back into the pond was pleasant to the atmosphere of the whole back & side yard. Watching them slowly swim around felt very peaceful indeed.
Fish; the quiet pet.

I haven't had any for a while but I always tried to have an assortment of slow, fast, schooling, bottom-dwelling, large, and small fish. Each type would have a preference for a certain area of the aquarium (top, bottom, cruising back and forth, etc.) so no matter what mood I was in there would be a few fish doing something that made me feel better just watching them.
