Whites are not so curious about blacks as a whole. They do say stupid things in front of or to blacks that they feel will put the black person at ease. You see, us whites have had blacks shoved down our throats for years. We are taught to be nice to blacks. We are taught not to offend blacks. Mostly by our own parents and teachers. To bad blacks are not taught the same by their parents and teachers. And you are right about the media. They portray blacks as murderers, thieves, rapists, etc. Or they will go totally the other way. Doctors, lawyers, etc. But, you know what? They seldom if ever portray the everyday person. The ones that are just people, not really any different than most whites, only with a darker skin. The media gets its reason for existing by demeaning blacks while telling them that they are their friend. They manipulate blacks and most blacks do not even realize it. I am very happy that at least one black person sees through the smoke. Good for you! There may be hope for this planet yet!

It sounds like you are curious about white people.
What's wrong with being curious? Isn't it better to ask and gain better understanding than to stay ignorant and make assumptions and generalizations? If people understood each other better they would get along better.
Many of the people who ask questions here ARE trying to educate themselves without the media. They want to get answers and opinions from normal people to get to know them and their culture better.
Not everyone who asks about differences between cultures/races is a racist. Far from all whites are racist either.
Stop looking at what race people are and focus on the content. If somebody gives a racist remark, ignore it, and if somebody asks a normal question don't assume they're racists just because they're asking about another race or culture than their own.

" If your going to talk atleast educate yourself first without the media"
Isn't that exactly what these people are doing? Yahoo Answers has nothing to do with the media. The media is the news: radio, TV news, etc. This is a forum for people just openly asking other people directly.
And isn't it better people of other races ask things rather than assume wrong or stereotype? You can't hate others for stereotyping and then also hate when people try to understand... can't have it both ways.

You said that right "Not ALL white people are like that"..I'm no racist never claimed to be and never had no intention of becoming one..I have a several black friends and they are great people..If I get curious I'll read some books on the subject..Besides I don't see nothing to get curious about..Black is a color and White is a color..big deal..Color means nothing to me as far as friends go..You can be yellow and still be my friend..

I don't give a damn about black people.
And as a matter of fact, I've seen more questions from black people regarding white people on here than the other way around.

I am not black nor white, I am brown. I wonder what is the meaning of curious in your question. I think being curious is the important fire of interest to discover the truth about anything. To discover why our is red, (including the animals) while we are wearing different color of skin is I think very interesting subject to be curious about. I think curiosity is important for us as human beings to learn the truth about our limited mentality.

Who's curious? Sounds like some type of stereotype based strictly on skin color. I would think curiosity is a human trait that is independent of skin tone. People are just people. Some have dark skin and some have light skin. Get over it.

I have no emotional attachment to you, your race or any other race/person in this world. Only to my family. Do not give you a second thought. You do not pay my bills or put food on my table.
So stop over catastrophising and get over it. Start empowering yourself abit more.
"I am not a rascist but" it pisses me off when black people keep on accusing us of been rascist. Good and bad in everyone.
Happens in Australia too, in the system I work in.
Good luck, be happy.

Some white people (not me, thankfully) seem to think blacks are generally SO different from them. Maybe that's why.
