Ok, I have been having my nails done for a little over 1 year and 1/2. The person that used to do them was wonderful but has moved away. I started going to a new place by the advice of some friends of mine. The place is clean and the people were nice. Pedicures are just fine there but lately since the girl I liked left, each time I have them done it hurts. What I mean is it burns like they are doing it to hard or something. The last time I had them done, I jerked back and she knew it hurt. It is now time to go for a fill in and I don't want to. I cannot grown straight nails as mine curve when they begin to grow. I also hate to go and have them taken off as I know they will have to use the machine to get them off. I do not want it to hurt or burn.
What should I do? Also the first girl I was talking about did not hurt me at all....So this is not normal right?
Please help.

Also I have had them taken off one time before and they did soak them but finally had to get the rest of it off with the drill thing.

You could try telling them that your nails are tender and ask if they could be easier.
Or, you could just stop going there and find a different nail salon to go to and let them (the new salon) know that your nails are tender right off the bat.
If I was you I would probably try the first answer I gave, if that doesn't work go on to a different salon.
I know what you are talking about and it can be a very painful experience if the manicurist is not gentle.
One more thing, when it is time to get the nails removed for fresh ones. Why not try buying a artificial nail remover to do at home? Sally Beauty Supply store carries them and they work great, I've used them myself.

Your having all of these problems because you're getting acrylic nails done. Acrylic nails are not good for you and are toxic. They leave deposits in your liver over time. Many nail technicians wear masks when they work, now you know why. The nail tech you just went to: DO NOT GO BACK TO HER! I used to work for a nail company called Light Concept Nails that are made with a high grade resin nail (plastic) similar to the same product that dentists seal teeth with. It is a light cured product and body friendly and safe not toxic. No odor or harsh chemicals. They remove easily. Not with acetone, which I don't have to tell you how toxic that is. And did you know that the acid they put on your bare nail to prep for the acrylic to adhere to your nail is the same stuff they use to etch glass with! It really is. I don't know where you live but see if you can find a salon that has a tech using this product. If not go to www.lcnusa.com they will be able to help you there. The US headquarters is in East Hartford, CT. I hope this helps. Light Concept Nails are the ONLY ones I would EVER, EVER consider wearing after all my years in the beauty business.

Look for another place to do your nails, it shouldn't hurt especially just for a fill. It isn't really that bad having them removed, they basically kind of lift them off, however I'm like you several of my nails do not grow straight, have a couple that hook when they get too long, and others I can grow out at least 1/2 inch or longer with no problem. Find another nail salon. I had a good one when I lived in Indiana, but we moved to a small town in Tennessee and I haven't found one that does as good of a job as the one that was owned by Orientals in Indiana, they done a super job and in three years think I only had to have three nails replaced that popped off.

I had fake nails briefly and did not keep them. It should not hurt for them to file or use the machine. They are actually burning or cutting you! Keep going to new people until you find someone who knows what they're doing. Ask even strangers while you're out who does theirs, if they like them etc. Lastly, when I did have mine removed, she soaked them for about 1/2 hour in regular polish remover to help lift the nails and did not use the machine at all to remove them. It was not painful.

Definitely try to find a new place. Ask your friends if they have any recommendations. It should not burn. Probably what happened was there was too much friction created by the buffing. But an experienced nail person should know how to avoid this.

No this isn't right it should not hurt or burn. You need to find a different place to get your nails done. You have asked them to ease up this has not helped time to look else where.

when it's time for them to take the nails off tell them you want to soak your nail in acetone nail polish removal. it will take awhile for them to soak off but you wont have to worry about them hurting your nail with some machine.. if the person that is doing your nails is hurting you tell them just don't jerk back and not say anything.
