No, you're not the only one. Musberger gets himself caught up in the hype that is Notre Dame, even though it is him and his media buds who create the hype in the first place.

Announcers make me sick. Most of them think the only football that gets played in America is East of the Mississippi. And Notre Dame can have a crappy team every year, and people will portray them as potential national champions.

Yeah, he loves a few teams. I hate it when my team plays his "teams". He likes Northwestern (grad), Penn St. Notre Dame, and USC.
He hates teams like U of Miami. He is so biased it's unbelieveable. And he is an idiot. I remember him saying the 2:00 minute warning will be coming right up. The other announcer had to correct him. And yesterday he said the coach for Mich St. should ask for a review--when he didn't have any timeouts.

I agree......he should be the announcer on NBC as it is the station for Notre Dame football. Cannot stand biased journalism at the National level. If working for the University, ok. But not ESPN/ABC.

Musberger's been like that forever, always over doing it for the favorite. I don't think he's a homer, he just likes the hype machine to keep rolling.
I agree that announcers should be unbiased, but they do give their opinions and with that comes a certain perspective.

95% of us who watch Ohio State Football games on TV pray each week that Musburger will not be in the booth. Last week he was so bias against OSU he never once made a positive statement. Bob Griese is another who seems to never say anything good about OSU, however he heeps praise on his son's alma mater, Michigan.
Brent should drink less and not be so obvious about his team bias.

The word is "Domer."
To be fair, I agree that they should try their best to be unbiased. But since no other journalism is any more, I guess it's not surprising.
Or maybe they just can't help themselves ... :)
