Valentino MAZZOLA above all: only his premature death was able to stop him.

None could compare to Paolo Rossi (well, Roberto Baggio was close). He was a legend in 82 World Cup, when Italia almost got eliminated during the first round (snuck in to the second round), then he carried the team through single-handly.

Amazing legend.

However, it would have been another France-Italy final if not for Schumacher's violent conduct in the semi-finals..

Italy is a rustic wealthy in soccer custom. even though it could argued that for all the super gamers to positioned on the Azzurri, they have yet to offer an extremely superb participant interior the type of Pele, Maradona, Beckenbauer or Zidane. although, they have produced many gamers who would define an era, Dino Zoff, Roberto Baggio, Gianni Rivera, Giacinto Fachetti, Gaetano Scirea, Paolo Rossi, Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi among others. yet their appropriate participant, would in all risk nonetheless be the only that has a stadium named after him, Giuseppe Meazza.

Roberto Baggio is a great soccer legend. He was the best in his times and even now, he's still the best!!! Fabio Cannavaro will be our future legen as he's the best of all captains and he's a great soccer player. Gianluigi Buffon is also the best goalkeeper on this earth. They will both be legends as they are already heros!! They are true heros and the best players of all teams!!!

Oh gosh Juve, there are loads of great players in the history of Italian Football. Baggio, (my personal fave) Facchetti, Zoff, Maldini, Rossi, Meazza, Baressi, Mazzola, Bettega, gosh the list could go on. Great footballers who all bought something to the game during their time.

soccer_mind...do you not like Roberto Bettega, you didn't mention him. He was outstanding for Juventus. Health and injuries gave him problems but he was a great striker.
