i'm an asian guy that has moved to north america. i always treat girls like the way a lady should be treated. i open door for them. i give my seat to them on a crowded bus. i've been acting like that even when i was in asia back then. but with all those sexual discrimination and stuffs that i hear around here i'm not sure if i should continue to act like a gentleman. would girls in the west feel insulted or pleased if they are being treated as a lady? if a guy that you've never met open door for you, do you really mean it when you say thank you to him?

I feel stunned, delighted, and perfectly willing to let a gentleman be a gentleman. From what you're telling us, you have wonderful manners, and there are still plenty of women who appreciate a guy like that.
And to answer your last question, when I go out, I often have to use my wheelchair. Trust me, when I thank someone for taking the time to open a door and make my life easier, I mean every word I say.

Many people are different. Yes some girls will be offended but I can't speak for those girls.
Personally, I like when a guy opens the door for me or offers me a seat. It's always nice to have a guy be nice to me when many now and days aren't gentlemen at all.
You're going to find ladies who like guys who are kind to them even if they don't know them. and then your going to find ladies who feel your stepping over they're boundries without permission.

in the south most men show respect to the ladys, I hope that you will continue this in your life, it just is a good way to be. you just dont make a big deal of it, just do it. without expecting anything back, its just a way of life for most southerners, not puttin down the yankees that are reading this, dont take offense now ya;ll.the best hospitality I was ever shown was from the miceli's in n.y.c.

welcome to american. women here generally hate asian men for no reason. they watch too much tv and everythings on tv tell them asian men are subhumans. it doesn't matter what you do. american women will be prejudice against you
