Could be a blockage of some kind or some sort of thing like arthritis where surgery could correct the problem. Regardless, there is no guarantee that this will not change. My friend's child was determined to have 20% hearing, and suddenly went up to about 85% after she reached a year. Doctors really don't know why. Even if that doesn't happen you can still live a full fulfilling life with hearing in just one ear.

My so is 3 months old to soon to be 4 . He failed his right ear to. They sent him to an ear specailist. In oder for them to do the test he has to be a sleep, and he isn't. So there going to what tell he is older. But his pedatricain said it might be because his right ear hole is to small is why he failed it at the hospital when he was born. He hears every thing. If you loo at it ii is smaller than the left. So don't worry.

PLEASE DON'T PANIC YET , HONEY I KNOW ANY WITH A NEW BABY IS SCARY, BUT MY NEPHEW FLUNKED ALL OF HIS HEARING TEST AND HAD TO BE SENT TO A SPECIALIST AND HE WASN'T DEAF . I WENT WITH MY SISTER AND TO FIND OUT THE REASON HE WAS FLUNKING THE TEST WAS : HE WAS NOT BOTHERED OR SUPER SENSITIVE. HE IS NOW 7 AND HAS GREAT HEARING. DON'T BE SHY TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO SEND YOUR SON TO A ENT SPECIALIST. IT COULD BE A BLOCKAGE OR SOMETHING SIMPLE.IF BY CHANCE IT COULD BY DEAFNESS THERE IS ALL KIND OF MEDICAL ADVANCEMENTS NOW DAYS THAT CAN HELP JUST TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME. I WILL KEEP YOUR SON IN MY PRAYERS!GOOD LUCK!CONGRATS ON THE NEW BABY BOY!

My daughter failed the listening to try two times in a month of being born. Her left ear turned right into 100 % yet her proper, they failed that. some months later, they tried back, in reality because it truly can take a at the same time as for the fluid to bathe up. i changed into truly below pressure and changed into crying even with the indisputable fact that it truly did take 3-4 months for the fluid to bypass. She surpassed the listening to try. attempt no longer to rigidity, i understand that's confusing even with the indisputable fact that it truly does take a at the same time as, no one is definitely-known with yet when he fails it back, ask to have it achieved after the third month, merely to rule it out wisely.

It doesn't have to be deafness. It could be a blockage or something like that. Get another opinion if they can't tell you what is wrong.

Have they done the one where he is asleep and it is brain pattern linked?
