Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)
Kill Non-Believers:
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors.

The question is somewhat loaded but nonetheless it remains an important question for America, which, as the most powerful nation in the world has fallen to be one of the most despised. And before all you right wing patriots and Fox News viewers jump to your keyboards to say America needs to win the war agains terrorism (what does that mean?) and that this is typical of a limp, liberal democrat: believing that we can appease terrorists by being nice to them, we need to define our terms in order to answer the question. First let us ask the question :-What is murder? and then Has Bush murdered people in other countries? and then what drives him?
Is it possible to define murder in the same terms as war? If you declare war and kill someone, is it murder? If you fail to declare war and invade another country and kill, is it murder? If you kill an opposing soldier in battle is it murder? If you kill women and children in their homes is it murder? Is killing civilians an "acceptable risk" in war and therefore justified? How many civilians can one kill, say, in invading Iraq to free it from an oppressive ruler, how many innocent deaths is an acceptable figure?
Clearly, killing people even after having declared war does not absolve you from the possibility of war crimes. The US has refused to acknowledge the International War Crimes Tribunal and its legislation and has also bullied and threatened other countries not to sign up to this international body, hoping of course to weaken its base and ultimately, protect its soldiiers from possible legal actions taken outside the US.
Murder is defined as "to kill (a human) UNLAWFULLY with malice of forethought " Was the invasion of Iraq lawful? Is it justifiable to kill innocents for a (supposedly) greater good? More Iraquis (and others) die post US "liberation", and torture is also worse now after Saddam Hussein.(UN reports). I noticed a few weeks ago that the UK remembered those who died on public transport when murdered by terrorists in London. There was a ceremony for that exactly one year after the tragedy. The same number of people die in Iraq EVERY DAY thanks to the removal of Saddam Hussein and a failure of the Alliance to have any control. So in addition to murder we have also to consider that many hundreds of people are dying because of lack of authority caused by the "liberation". It is not acceptable to simply say Arab is killing Arab, so its ok! So who is responsible for their deaths then?
Back to the question. Is religion what drives Bush to murder? Finding Bush's motive is complex. Sure he is as fanatic a religious fundamentalist as is his "opposition" (as he perceives them). Was the invasion because Daddy's old employees felt they had unfinished business? Was it because the CIA told him that he had to get out of Saudi because the US was unwelcome there, and the second largest oil producer had to be the next target for Cheney and Bush, on ther basis that oil is politics?
Did he and the eloquent Tony Blair completely misunderstand the complexity of ther Middle East and a complete ignorance of the present and past history of troubles and tribalism there? Or was it seen as an opportunity to Balkanise Iraq so as to control oil supplies and also to act as a wedge driven into the side of the Arab world to make Israel's growth and presence more effective?
I think you can take your pick of those possibilities, but one thing is for sure, he did not look to 2 Chronicles to act.

Well then he would be killing a lot of his own citizens then too wouldn't he. He would be gassing them and executing them just like Hitler and Saddam. This is the best you can come up with? Pretty pathetic. If you were only educated on what the world is really like and didn't fist off to Michael Moore every day you would have a different view.

Very interesting...
Kind of mutes the argument about the Koran having all that stuff about violence against the gentiles.
Btw, Bush is a rightwing Christian extremist and doesn't speak for the true Christians in the USA.... now I sound like Muslems defending themselves against stereotyping.
That's your point.

,So what's your point? The killing going on in "other Nations!"(sic) is being done by Muslim insurgents killing other Muslims. If you mean taking down Saddam or the Taliban, religion had nothing to do with it. By the way all you Bush kills for oil people , how many Iraqi oil fields have we taken over so far? here's a hint 000......

I hate it how people bad mouth Bush.... I wish all you super smart liberals who are probably poor and just want your welfare checks, or gay, or are to lazy to live in the real world, would maybe get a job or hell even run for president... so I can complain about you lousy democrats who just want to be lazy and collect money from the government just like you all complain about Bush.

Gee, the chosen one, as his mother called him. Not sure, but ...
I do not understand the man has 2 kids-only--both girls---not likely to serve. His mother and daddy r still alive, I lost mine long time ago. Too long ago, and I am much younger than him.
I would like the wars to stop!
I think it is crazy sacrifising our men and women everyday! The backdoor draft is bad! The national guard being chose as the first ones to fight is not good! You know I could go on but I will not.

The Bible also says "Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord". I think Bush is just a puppet boy for the oil industry and he's too stupid to know the difference.

If that is what you call innocent people then i dont know what to tell you with your distorted mind and your rambling babbles!

Another mindless liberal Bush basher, bring it!
Who has Bush murdered and how? Trust me if Bush murdered someone, the liberal media would jump on it faster than you can say "imprisonment."
If youre referring to the War in Iraq, thats not murder. War is war and murder is murder and I feel sorry for anybody who fails to see the difference because they are truly lost and helpless.
