in 1969 the early beginnings of the internet(as its called) was really ARPNET--an experimental 4 computer network est. for the us defense dept began
in 1971 it linked about 2 dozen computers at 15 sites incl. Harvard and MIT.

it grew further and then was disbanded in 1990. the NSF-NET(scientiest, professors, techies) began work on its own network and allowed the public to access it...this was essentially the beginning of the net...with browsers in 1991 it became an integral part of the communication world

how old was al gore in 1971? I think he needs to have his head examined.

No. the internet began as a growing number of universities and scientific institutions connected thier computers via telephone lines and modems.

Al Gore did help pass legislation that helped to speed the growth of the internet, but his claim that he invented the internet is somewhere between an exagerated boast and an outright lie.

No. however He was so afraid of His wife, Tipper, that instead of paying attention to serious international and, domestic issues, He spent His time and, Our tax dollars pushing a bill for Her and, Her bored housewife friends to put censorship warning labels on record albums. they were un- successful but, the record industry started using the labels voluntarily. not surprisingly, the records with the labels were the best sellers. they were the coolest to have.
THANKS TIPPER!
