does anyone know a program that burns dvds but takes out the wide screen?

and also i want to burn a dvd for a friend and he has a dvd player and when i burn dvds i play on the xbox which needs a record speed x2 for dvd players can i just burn it normal max speed or like the xbox.......thanks!
