I don't think designer babies are a good idea. Look back through fashion magazines. There in the 80's and 90's everyone wanted the perfect face. All the models looked exactly the same. Now although models are still beautiful, it is the uniqueness in them that makes them stand out. We would live in a very boring world if everyone was perfectly designed.
Although I think it would be wonderful to be able to control genetic health problems.

Most peoples' initial negative reaction is unfounded. When individual couples design their baby, it won't be exactly the same as some other couples design. There will also be those who want to purposely leave some inherited, detrimental trait but take another away.
But the government will probably step in and regulate (if not ban) the entire practice cutting the selection of designable traits significantly.

I think the idea stinks. Take my nephew Austin. If he had been 'designed', he probably wouldn't have been so cranky. But I love him to bits just the way he was...and if he were any different, he just wouldn't be the hardheaded kid I'm so crazy about.

I was just getting sold on having a clone ,what are designers babies ,can you design their equipment and brain size and such ,

I don't believe in that. It sounds like scientists are trying to play God.
