If you had a one night stand a few months ago and felt terrible and was for sure that you would never ever do it again would you tell your spouse or just forget about since you know you wouldn't ever do it again?

Keep your mouth shut and learn from your miss take and never let it happen again. and turn your guilt into some positive behavior . start with appreciating the man you married and never let him forget how much you love him.

DON'T TELL! I've been there and done that (with a boyfriend, not a spouse but it was a very serious relationship). In the end I realized that I told because I felt guilty. After telling I felt better and he felt awful all over something I intended never to do again. If there's a good chance the spouse will find out some other way, go ahead and tell, better to hear it from you. But if they probably won't find out any other way, let your feelings of guilt be your punishment.

You should tell them and get what you deserve. You could have caught a STd or conceived a child and totally messed everything up. If you really love the person then you would have NEVER cheated. Think of karma. If you cheated and didnt tell then they could just as well do the same thing. Do you want to know if they cheat? It doesnt matter if they know or not because you will know and it will kill you inside.

Don't tell your spouse. You would be causing a lot of heartache and grief, just to unload your guilt and try to redeem yourself. It's selfish. Forget about it and move on.
