I think the other respondents doth protest too much.
France:
Saved our tail during the amercan revolution
Has great food
Most productive workers in the world
Free and fine heath care system
Free and respected education from kindergarten through college
Goverment pension for all citizens that you can actually live on.
Great public transportation
All workers get a month of vacation a year plus holidays
35hour work week
There is a downside, your taxes are about 2-5% higher then usa but look at what you get.
Oh yeah, and your loved ones don't get sent off to war to die without solid proof.
Yeah, go ahead hate France!

I do...! So do most Brits who ever spent more than a day-trip visit across the channel...! And the fact is - they're proving it...! Every year more and more middle-class Brits are leaving "Grey Britain" to make their home - and send their kids to school - in France...! It's part of what is called "White Flight." And the huge attraction of France is easily the biggest part...!
Oh, sure - there are Brits who also "fly" to other nice European countries too - but France is by far the most popular target among the better educated Brits. Gradually, the UK is losing its middle-class whites - their place is rapidly being taken up by 3rd-Worlders who, in turn, are squeezing out the White-Trash and taking up the dwindling jobs and social facilities... It's getting so's you've got to be (either) very rich or very poor to stay on much longer in this hell-hole that I call "Grey Britain"...!

I don't envy France, but I feel sorry for all those f****wits here who come up with stupid stereotypes.
Funny that the country to whom humanity owes democracy is not liked by a large bunch of Brits: shame on you!

France is one of the best countries to live in.

Been there, done that, not impressed!
I've heard the saying that French are cheese eating surrender monkeys!
Whilst that is horrible, my point is no-one I know likes France at all.

I love there champagne.My grandfather was from Nice,having said that,I think they have their heads up their liberal azzes.They are trying too hard to be Switzerland!! So no envy here!!
