Some of the wire tappings lead to the US/Canadian arrests of terrorists in Quebec. I believe there were 16 of them planning a run into the US, but they never got out of Canada.
In some of these cases, I'm sure the wire tappings have lead to operations outside of the US, that we will never hear about.

The government is not wiretapping, they are eavesdropping, BIG difference.
If a suspected terrorist outside the US calls to the US the government will listen in.
I'm glad they do.

I wasnt aware the trials had begun and that evidence brought out to public knowledge, but I suppose you can look at several foiled plots that are out there and ask yourself a question: Do you feel lucky?
