They are exactly the same thing. The first is the definition of the second, which is abbreviated 5! -- the exclamation point meaning factorial, not surprise!

There is really no difference. Five factorial (5!) is a mathematical operation that indicated that you start from the given number and multiple each whole number from the start point down to one.

5! = 120

5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 120

Same thing.
