Haha, I do it to my cat all the time. It's funny to watch them jump. Sometimes I shine a light on the wall and watch her jump at it to see how high she'll go.

We have two dogs but my son has an evil cat. She hates everyone in our family except our son so she is really a one person cat. One day she was in our dining room window relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. I sunk up behind her and she jumped so high that she hit her head on the window (maybe it knocked some sense into her because now she is nicer to me). However, once I got my Yorkie she became a snob again because he will not allow her to come close to his mom! Protective pets are cool!

Sorry to hear you are depressed. Don't do that too many times to your kitty. It will end up distempered. Or it can end up with a nervous condition late in age. kittens will jump with the least little noise but to scare it on purpose is not nice. Sorry but i love animals.
Take care.
P.S. And yes they are so cute when they jump. Mostly side ways.

Glad she brighted your day. Yes that is funny every time, but what's funnier is we have 5 dogs(4 over 80 lbs and one 8 pounder) and 3 cats and watching the cats stalk the dogs and scare the begeezus out of them makes me tear up it's so friggin funny.

I once had a cat that would wait in a dark room and then jump out at me when I walked by. I had to check my drawers on several occasions!

That is hilarious. We torment our cats all the time.
It serves them right for waking me up at 4:00 am to go outside!
Anytime I can sneak up on one and go "pppsssssstttt" real loud, it makes my day!
