I say most movies run around 1.5 hours. My bf say most movies are about 2.5 hours. What do you think?

Again, I'm talking averages. I know some movies are super long, and some are super short. But on average....

You are closer to the truth. 1.5 hours translates to two hours on the tube with ads. Of course, many are longer, but most roll out at about 1.5. film/tape is expensive, and the producers watch every penny. And, if you cannot tell a story in 1.5 hours, then something is wrong with the editing.

Most people won't sit for over 2 hours--but if they make them too much shorter people feel jipped to pay the same for a short movie.
So a little less than 2 hours.
