Can the law of conservation of mass be appied to a chemical reaction in which a gas is produced??

Yes, under no circumstances can matter be lost or gained. In a chemical reaction, matter can change states but the total molecular mass remains constant.

Actually, I think it's Law of Conservation of Matter (not mass).
And a gas can be a product of the chemical reaction.
Remember: Matter is never created or destroyed, it just changes in a chemical reaction.

The law of conservation of mass states that the mass of a closed system of substances will remain constant regardless of the processes acting within the system.

So, the answer to your question is yes. The fact that a gas is produced doesn't affect the fact that the total mass of the system will remain constant.

Yes. Even the gas has mass. The law of conservation of mass states that the mass of the reactants must equal to the mass of the products, regardless of whether a gas is or is not produced.

Jk r use u dont mean that the law of conservation of matter with nuclear fusion? Similar but not the same. But 2 ur question im pretty sure it can be. In certain situations but it doesnt apply 2 all chemical solutions.

The conservation of mass applies in all cases, including chemical reactions. Keep in mind, however, that mass can also be converted to energy, such as light or heat, which is pretty common in chemical reactions.
