Just keep subtracting 8 to get the next number. It's a simple arithmetic sequence.

First 64-32 = 32. So the 3 steps must move a total of 32

The middle one would be half that distance, or 16. 32 + 16 = 48
64, ___, 48, ___, 32

The other ones would be half that distance between them, or 8
32 + 8 = 40
48 + 8 = 56

64, 56, 48, 40, 32

(The technical answer is that it could be ANYTHING. This is mathematically true, but the teacher would probably mark that wrong just because it is the smart-alec answer. If you want more info, let me know)

That would be my best guess, based on the information. Just divide the range of 32 to 64 into 4 segments:
(64-32) / 4 = 32 / 4 = 8
So 8 separates each segment.

because I was a math major the common number that they have together is 8 so the correct answer is 64,56,48,40,32. this represents the times table of 8 as we know it:

8 x 1 = 8

8 x 2 = 16

8 x 3 = 24

8 x 4 = 32

8 x 5 = 40

8 x 6 = 48

8 x 7 = 56

8 x 8 = 64

8 x 9 = 72

8 x 10 = 80

Good luck.

Vote for me, please.

an = a1 + (n - 1)d

32 = a1 + (5 - 1)d
32 = a1 + 4d
a1 = -4d + 32

64 = -4d + 32
32 = -4d
d = -8

The pattern is

an = 64 - 8(n - 1)

a(2) = 64 - 8(2 - 1)
a(2) = 64 - 8(1)
a(2) = 64 - 8
a(2) = 56

a(3) = 64 - 8(3 - 1)
a(3) = 64 - 8(2)
a(3) = 64 - 16
a(3) = 48

a(4) = 64 - 8(4 - 1)
a(4) = 64 - 8(3)
a(4) = 64 - 24
a(4) = 40

ANS : 56, 48, 40
