Your rights depend on the state you are in.

Few.. You need a written lease agreement.. With a written lease agreement when they would sell the house the new owners would have to abide by your lease agreement.. buying the house as a rental...

Just because your landlord has chosen to sell her house, does not mean it's going to sell.. and if it does sell, it can be a lengthy process that can buy you a few months...

There's also a possibility that they are planning to sell the place AS a rental.. so the new owner, it's quite possible.. would love for you to be living there so they know they are going to be buying a filled apartment and not a vacant place.... Renters pay the mortgage so the landlord doesn't have to. (And generally the rent they charge you pays above and beyond what the costs are to own it)

I don't know all your details.. to tell you more, I'd need more.. but I'm just going by what you said....

You need to get something in writting.. if your landlord is not willing to do that.. then I'd hope you haven't given a security deposit yet... and it's time to look for a different place...

For future reference.. never move into any place.. even if it's your best friends house.. without some boundaries written.

Good luck!

Sorry, any agreement involving real estate must be in writing or it is not enforceable. She may still let your rent you will just have to be aware you may be 30 days away from moving at any given moment if she sells. Good luck.
