Get some saddle soap. I would not use bleach on it.
Calling someone who does leather cleaning might be very helpful.

The yellowing is due to the tanning process. Someone should be able to help you on the internet. You say, vintage? If you do restore it, you can loose its value.

try bleaching it but when your done make sure u clean off all the bleach or it will turn yellower

try to apply a layer of toothpaste on a small area and polish. if works then apply on other areas.
