I have a colt,bay,gelding with no name i will use him for hunter under saddle pleasure and western pleasure also halter.I want something unique, not a name like Fred!

I am no good at naming pets. We have 3 dogs, 3 cats, a rat and a fish....(Hemi, Jackadoo, Blue, Boo, Wee-wee, Spaz, MaddyMoo, and Finky) but I found a great website that might help you.

It would be better if I knew the dam and sire's names. Apocalypse, Bay-lee, & Conrad are a few unique names.

Find a name that goes with his personality then do a google search for the meaning of the word and see what you can come up with.
If he is registered then of course you go by his pedigree then acquire a barn name.

How about Cowboy's Beau Geste. Beau Geste means "a fine or noble gesture" . I had a sorrel Quarter gelding from the King Ranch & his name was Beau Geste. I've always thought that name was fitting for a horse because they are noble creatures.
