"A National Intelligence Estimate completed in April says Islamic radicalism has mushroomed worldwide and cites the Iraq war as a reason for the spread of jihad ideology"

The Intelligence Estimate represents a consensus view of the 16 U.S. intelligence agencies.

So since our own government has now said the Iraq war is making terrorism worse, increasing radicalism, and making the U.S. less safe, what is the best way to secure our nation?

Will trade and dialogue defuse some of the anger? Can we strengthen the moderate elements of Islam? Would a pursuit of alternative fuel sources make a difference? What do you think?

Your question borders on implying that before we entered Iraq, terrorism was at a level that was acceptable.

Do you really think the Islamic radicals' escalation of their ideology of a one world government under Islamic Law is something that developed because of the Iraq war?

Before we ever put one single US soldier on their turf, the radical Muslims were proclaiming that the world must convert to Islam - or die!

This ideology of murder and hate can only breed more murder and hate - with or without any alleged reasons from outside their own countries!

Japan was as brutal with China, was suicidal with the west (ditching their planes into our ships), as the present-day militant Islamic movement is with us. We saw no insurgency after we clobbered the hell out of Japan. Draw your own conclusion.
