Go to "Control Panel" Select "Internet Options" Select "Privacy" tab, select your privacy settings (low to high) and tick the box on the bottom that says "Block Pop Ups" this will block most pop ups but not all.
Do a search on google for "Pop up Blockers" My husband built me one that I use... but you should be able to locate a free one online

make sure you click the icon just once. make sure you have ran Windows Updates and you have the latest version of Internet Explorer. if this happens all the time and is annoying you to no end----get firefox!

It's a virus. You need anti-spyware, anti-adware and virus protection. Buy Norton's.
One option you have is to use a restore point on your computer by using the Restore Wizard and set it back to a date before this started happening.
