I occasionally go to pawnshops with my husband, but I really don't like to. It feels like I'm buying someone else's misery or desperation.
If I buy something at a resale shop, it was either donated or bought somewhere like a yard or estate sale. That doesn't feel quite as bad as buying something that someone *had* to pawn to get money.

I like to go to pawn shops, you can find good deal sometimes, But what I like most is you can negotiate a good price, if you know about the idea. I bought a snare stand that sells for 80 dollars and bought for less than 20 dollars.
So you can find deals if you know what to look for.
I never pay the price listed, because they can take of 10 to 15 percent right off the price if you ask..

i enjoy going to the pawnshops and buying things i have never pawned anything but i have found tons of bargains on things being sold there

Yes I love it. You can find some really good deals some times and if the pawn broker wants to make some money he will some dealing on the price. But, you have to watch out cause some of them are thieves and will take your money.

My boyfriend enjoys going to them. We compromise sort of, I go to pawn shops with him, if he goes to thrift, junk, antique shops with me. He likes the pawn shops because he gets lucky and finds some great deals on tools, guns, and jewelry. Neither one of us believe in pawning anything. The shops never give you a decent price on your items and then you run the risk of losing it. I know its necessary at times for some people to do in order to make ends meet. I have a cuz that is constantly hocking her jewelry so that her family can get by in between paychecks.
