...such as in a book? I've looked all over yahoo (copyright, terms of service, etc.) and I don't see any reference to it.

Yes it can be. There are no terms on the web site that state either expressly or implied that anything posted here is copyright protected. Also, note that nothing here is claimed to a "true answer" as far as Yahoo is concerned.

I'm not sure about the ToS, but either Yahoo owns the written work, or the original author does. Either way, you'd need to buy the rights from the owner. That's just standard intellectual property law, so you won't find it in the ToS.

What we ask and answer here is for all to see and do what theylike with. I wouldnt doubt yahoo gets some nice sponsers for yahoo awnsers. Any corperation would love to know what we know or dont know.

nno i dont think it can be done .if you click on help on the top right side of this page it will take you to community guidelines. you will see a part titled content and usage. that will tell you what you need to know.
