I got word from a reliable source that no stores will be taking reserves for the PS3 and the Wii. My source is a Store Manager at Game Crazy. He showed me the memo that the stores got from Nintendo and Sony as well. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(

I would wait think that by mid to late October most places will be taking a limited number of pre-orders for the PS3. Most stores don't know how many units they will be getting yet, so they don't know how many pre-orders they can take. Like i said by mid October you should be able to register for one, keep calling all the usually suspects to see when they will start taking orders.
