Do you actually think the government would allow media outlets to do stories on these topics if they occured in the US? Would they keep it quiet? If so, why do you think? Could it possibly be to prevent widespread panic? Or for other reasons? Would they let us continue believing life was OK and find out the hard way?! I bet they would...

I got a question for you, Why would you want to know?
I, personally, DON'T. I want the bombs to fall on my head while I'm sleeping peacefully in my bed.
Seriously, those secrets the government can keep. I don't want to be counting down to my death.
Also, riots. We couldn't handle Katrina (a natural disaster) without turning on each other. So, what do you think will happen if the general public got it into their heads that we may not be here tomorrow? Chaos. Murder. Horror that I just don't want to see.
So, ignorance is bliss. You wanna be in the know, good on you, get a job in the government.
Leave me in ignorance, please.

I assume you mean, if a terrorist used such a weapon on us. They couldn't possibly keep it quiet, because of the number of people involved. People would start wondering why their son never calls anymore. The internet is also an X factor...news spreads there quickly and uncontrollably.
