go to tools, internet options or options, go to advanced tab , scroll down to multimedia and see if show pictures or something similar is checked , if not then check it , hit apply and exit.

Try downloading the attachment to your desktop and open the photo on the desktop. Make sure the attachment you are trying to view is actually a photo (JPEG, PNG,BMP,etc...)

Go to the Options menu in Yahoo mail to change your preferences.

click on the attachment (has a paperclip icon), SAVE on your desktop, right click on the file from your desktop, scan with a anti virus software FIRST before opening it.
