Red lipstick would be just fine, the trick is to get one with the same tone as your hair, reds either have an orange or a blue base to them. If you have orangey red hair, go with the same lipstick, if you have darker red hair, I would go with the blue based red. You can tell the difference by comparing different reds, side by side.

My cousin is a red head and I know she does not wear bright red.I think if you wear a red make sure it is not over baring and I would actually recomend to go into MAC cosmetic store and try some different lip glosses as well as lip sticks and see what looks better on you because it all depends on your skin tone as well. Will you be wearing the red lipstick for night time?If you are it be a good idea for the day time to get something lighter and in a lip gloss form. MAC is awesome and they will help you find the perfect colour as well.

A lot of people will say that you can't, but you can! And it looks great! If you like that vintage hollywood glamour look, check out what the screen queens of the time were doing and you will see a lot of red hairwith a lot of red lipstick.
Try a couple of shades on - go for more of a browny-red and you will see it does work as long as the rest of your make up is appropriate

Yes, you can. The trick is that the red is going to have to be just on the warm side of neutral. No cool reds, but nothing orangey either.
I wear Chanel Rouge Allure in Brilliant. Yes, it's a little pricey but I've probably spent just as much on cheaper stuff trying to find something that worked on me. I also LOVE Vincent Longo's Lip & Cheek Gel Stain in Cupid's Breath. It looks a little orangey on Sephora's site, but it looks amazing on!

I dont think anyone here on yahoo answeres will give you what you want. Because none of us know exactly what you look like, and when your tryin to pick a lipstick color that looks nice you might want to go to like foleys where they have make up professional who will tell you what colors look nice with your hair and complement your skin tone.
Hope I helped ♥

it all depends on the shade of red, whether you are fair skin, or freckled. there are several lipsticks in the red family, you just have to find one that goes well with your skin complexion & one that will compliment your eyes as well as your hair color. good luck

Of course you can, red lipstick looks sexy on any complexion. Since you have red hair though I think a scarlet (darker) red would look gorgeous on you.
