It may in fact escalate the violence because he would be looked at as a martyr for the cause. It could go either way really if he is indeed dead.

Osama is killed only by rumour mongers. He is not dead yet officially. Even he is dead, he is alive in the form of thousands of terrorists who are ready to sacrifice their lives to keep the Osamaism alive. Though Islam never approves Osamaism, the fundamentalists in the name of Islam are constantly trying in corrupting the minds of illiterates and youngsters with the ideologies of Osama bin Laden, once a friend of US rulers. There is a remote possibility of the return of peace as long as self-centred politicians are given a free hand to carve the fate of the common people. We, the people of this world, should become vigilant of our rights and wise enough to identify the real leaders capable of ruling the countries. No hope until then!

First,it's not for sure that Osama has Passed away. Next, even if He has, then He will be Revered as a Martyr. And there are many more willing to take His Place. As an Example, The Ayatollah Khomeni of Iran is as much,if not more Revered in Death as in Life. How Sad !

There is no conclusive proof Osama is dead. This is not a Bush plan to make the whitehouse look good. The whitehouse would want exclusive unquestionable proof that he is dead, for their own campaign reasons. No, if he is dead, there will still be a world full of terrorism, always has been, always will be.

I don't believe for a minute that he's dead. That rumor has been coming up since this war started. If he were, it wouldn't change a thing. The capture of Saddam hasn't changed a thing. Those people will appoint a new leader and go on with their plans.

In this world one evil replaces another at a fastest pace. Before one Laden is forgotten another will be in wings to cast his spell on the world. It is only a short lived elation. History delivered many a mass killers from time to time.

What is your definition of peace?

If he is dead, then it would depend on how he died - if it was due to natural causes (heart attack, kidney failure, etc.) then I don't think his death will help to foster peace one way or another. If he died and the American government can be linked to it in any way, then it will do nothing but harm us.

I won't believe it until I see the body. We thought we had JonBenet's killer too. Only believe 1/2 of what you hear and 3/4 of what you see.
