I agree 1000%!!!

I was literally shocked out of my gorge this past year when Mass. passed a law requiring residents of their state to have health insurance. How in the world can they require that?

In addition to your excellent argument, I would add, how can they punish a person for eating, drinking, etc... things that are legal?

They are creating all this legislation because of the rising cost of healthcare and health maintenance related things...

They should be focusing on controlling or regulated the out of control insurance companies, pharmacy companies, etc... rather than putting more stipulations on 'life'.

You are comparing apples and oranges. If our government did provide health care that wouldn't mean that we would listen to them about not doing drugs or anything else.

Ding!

But then again imagine what they could do if they DID provide that health care. Maybe we are better off now.

In a free society, the gov't should NEVER legislate morality!
