that was the season finale, you probably stopped watching about 15 minutes before the end of the episode. the woman cop bursts in and "saves" him, even though we come to discover that her and the carver/dr quentin are brother and sister.

That was the end of season two, then comes season three, and they are starting season four right now. So twenty six episodes follow that plus next week.
