These were Reeses' Pieces. At the time those were a relatively obscure candy but thanks to this movie, their popularity boomed. Great case study.

Reese's Pieces (like M&Ms, but with peanut butter instead of chocolate). It was definitely a marketing ploy that worked. Those things sold like mad after that movie came out.
