I was on an HTML tutorial site that directed me to view the source code for a particular web page: http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/article.php/3478141

When I did this (click view, then click source) nothing happened, there was no window that opened containing the code. I had a friend of mine try it out on his lap top and it worked for him with no problem...

What can I do to correct this problem.

lots of people have been telling me that the site may have an HTML guard on it to prevent the viewg of code...but I don't think so. If part of the tutorial was to view the code for the web page listed above then I don't think the site owner used any protections...

I tried it through Firefox and it worked fine. I know this sounds stupid but is it maybe something as simple as disabling your popup blocker?

I checked the website and it does not block viewing of html source code. One fast solution is to have another browser like firefox, anyway, it can work side by side with IE. Download, install and go again to that site, to see if you can view the page source.

Yes, there's really some sites that they can block to view html source (see last link below).

Hi,
You're right htmlgoodies has no "HTML guard" on its source and it kind of defeats the purpose of the site if you can't see what it does!

1) Clear your Temporary Internet Files and History and ensure its setup something like 100Mb only (Tools>Internet options>General tab) and try again. Your viewing that page from your Temp Int. Files and having too many does cause issues.

2) Go to Tools>Internet Options>Programs and make see if setting the HTML editor to notepad makes any difference.
