My girlfriend's dumbass chihuahua just chewed up the wires on my 150$ in-ear headphones. I really don't want to scrap them, but I can't figure out how to get the wires right. The wire is chewed right in the middle of the left side. I have a red wire and an orange wire, and both are wrapped around an off white material that looks like string. I don't think it's wire, just some sort of support. how do I do it?

EMW, Silence. The wires are not fiber optics - not only is fiber optic cable utilized in headphones but I know what it looks like, and this isn't it. Please help yourself in the future by keeping your fidgety fingers off the keyboard if you don't have any idea of what you're talking about.

Stereo signals on headphones have an R (red/right) wire an a left one usually white. Some share a single ground cable or mesh and some have separate ground wires

You should see 2 wires on each ear side. If only one, then the ground is made of the surrounding material.

The wires are fiber-optic and they cant soldered together. You might as well just buy new ones and next time don't leave them out for the dog. You cant really blame the dog if you just leave them out.
