For a home test, between 5-10% chance that it would be a false positive. For a blood test, less than 2%.

I don't know the exact probability but in my own experience I had 7 false negatives. I started doing a test 2 days before my missed period and a week after I was supposed to start I finally got a positive. It is just your body that may not be producing enough of the HCG hormone yet. Or, you just may not be pregnant. I would wait a week or so and if not started yet, retest. Good luck in whatever you are hoping for.

Have you missed a period yet? It could be that you're just testing too early. It's pretty common to get a neg home pg test and still be pg. I'd test again and if you still get neg, but think you're pg I'd call the doc for a blood test.

It is slim but it can happen. If using a dipstick you should always use your first morning urine. When I was 17 I took a home pregnancy test and it was positive. So I went to planned parenthood and they did a blood test. It was negetive. Guess what 2 days later having all the symptoms of a pregnancy I went to our family doctor and he did a urine test. positive again. And sure enough I was.. So it can happen

It varies from test to test, but generally pretty low. False postives are far more likely. Most pregnancy tests these days are taken by women who don't want to be pregnant, so the test are adjusted to be most accurate in that respect.

My sister-n-law got a negative on a test & when she didnt start her period the next month she got a posative test ... maybe its to early to detect , unless your already late ... I advise you to wait another week & retest using first morning urine it has the most hormones in it ... hope it turns out how you want it to
