Take lessons on your instrument for about 4 months....
Play music by ear..the style you want...
Get a rock star makeover....
Analyse the song patterns in the music you like...
Write 3 or 4 songs with that same recipe...
Find a singer....
Rehearse and play anywhere....always have fun...and

Unfortunately there aren't enough keystrokes available here. Why don't you start by taking some lessons? If you have the gift, hone your skills & you'll be able to write music. Then if you have the drive and are willing to live on beans & rice for a while, you can start your very own band. Good luck!

you don't need lessons, pick up a beginners guitar book, get a cruddy guitar, practice til you bleed, everyday, find people who like the music you want to play, take influence from everything, write about life and rock hard!!!
