i went into the vet with my 2 rats, i had them in the same cardboard box because i couldnt find a second one and i couldnt leave one at home, as i would not be returning at that home, anyway, i had to take them both into the vets offce because i couldnt leave one in the waiting room, it would pee on someone, i tols the receptionest that i wanted only the one rat treated, and no other action taken, no shots, nothing, only an exam on the one rat, and she marked his name and we went in, with both, like i said before, and he not only examined both, but also gave them injections of antibiotics, wich is what i didnt ask for, i was never told that he was going to do this, and after he was done, i went to the waiting room, $190! i filed a BBB report, and he lied! even said he had tapes that show me taking one in, then he examines and treats it, i go out, take the other rat, and come back in, and he examines and treats him too! the office even had a D rating, so i dont know what i should so.

my parents say i shouldnt have to pay for treatments i never aksed for in the first place, and in a way, i kno of agree with them

oh, i only had 45 and that was for the exam, and that was what i was told was going to have to pay for just one exam, but he did injections, and i didnt ask or authorize them, i only had $45 on me at the time

no no no, its $190, i only had $40, and i dont get that money, ever, my parents are the ones who sugest i dont pay it, they are afterall the ones with all the money

Why didn't you question him when he took out the other rat or when he gave them injections? If you weren't in the room, why couldn't you have kept the other rat with you?
I would go with what your parents suggested and not pay. How old are? I think if you're under 18 the vet shouldn't be seeing you without a legal guardian, so that would go in your favour.
Definitely look around for another rat vet. There has to be a better one. One that knows that you shouldn't inject antibiotics into rats as it can cause very nasty burns.

I think that the vet at least needs to work with you on the bill if you cannot seek satisfaction from the BBB Oh I got a rude awakening on Frontline Plus that I bought from the vet...one package with three vials of dog flea meds and one package of cat meds cost me 95 frikken dollars! I was like huh? I feel your pain!

wow i assuming that your pore like all of us and cant afford crap like that i could buy groceries for 4 months with190 dollars so you probably cant sue something similar happened to me i took my gerbil in to the vet to have her nose looked at and i had to pay for a eye dropper sized medicine bottle for 70 bucks later that week i had noticed that the medicine hadn't been working then i ran out of the bedding so i used paper shreds i found out that her nose got better in a couple of weeks and she was just allergic

Were you in the room with the vet while this was happening? If so, you should have been in control of what was happening.

dont pay it. if they sue you then get a lawyer state your case and you'll win. I'd also go see another vet for his opion on this matter and I'd get photos of the needle marks on both of them.
