i have to have them all the time. i have an arrhythmia. alot of people are explaining an EKG to you. that is when they put the sticky tabs on your and take a quick reading. an echocardiogram is an ultrasound of your heart. it doesnt take that long, and most of them will point out parts when they are doing it. it may be a little cold in the room and a little uncomfortable bc the opening of the gown is in the front (kinda weird if you are a girl), but in no way will it hurt. they just put a ton of lub on the top of the ball thing and move it around. you may feel them pushing a little, but that is it. it is cool because you will get to hear all the blood flowing through your heart. it will sound all swishy. dont worry, it wont hurt at all, and it is important to make sure everything is ok. good luck!

Yep. It's pretty simple - just an ultrasound of the heart and blood flow. Electrocardiograms (EKG) are worse. They stick tabs all over you to check your heart.

I had one. It was really neat being able to see my heart beating, the valves opening and shutting, etc.
