I work with a lot of modelling agencies. Being mestizo or foreign looking is an advantage but then again, it's easy to get professionals flown in from all over the world these days so if you're new to the business, it takes more than a pretty face and a six pack.
If you want to avoid a tedious string of "go-sees" and sleazy casting couches, hook up with a respectable talent management or modelling agency like T-models, the velvet rope or Mercator.
Edit: misread your question..looks like you're more interested in acting than in modelling... "acting" such as it is in the Philippines is basically just being "humble" to all the media people and fans so you get more work. It has got very little to do with actual talent.
Btw, My company is casting for a TVC right now...contact me if you want to try your luck.

It is easy if you have the right "packaging", that's how they call it in the Philippine show-business. "Right packaging" means good looks, talent, right attitude/projection and if you're a Mestizo-meaning half Filipino it is best to learn the language or else the viewers will lose interest and you'll end up as a one time, big time star only..not for a longtime.

if u have the looks and the guts!yeah u can!theres already a lot of foreigners invading our showbiz industry from koreans, half americans, half british, half mexican and even japanese since majority of filipino's are baduy, corny, sad to say they r being idolized even they cant sing, dance and act well.u can say its funny since its a philippine brand but the models are americans.for example is SM,its one of philipines biggest shopping mall chain but when u go to SM makati and look at their wall advertisements, its an american family shopping and u cant rarely see a family of whites shopping in there.so thats just an example that if u are white ur chance of having a modelling career is big.anyway try to roam the usual hang outs of the local talent agent and if u r cute and can play well with people,u might be the next image model of any philippine brand..

hmm. sometimes you don't even have to have the talent. just have the mestizo looks or the half-filipino/half-something breed, you'll get noticed.
most of the younger artistas in the phil. cinema don't have any talent. nakakapanindig balahibo sila kung umarte. puro loveteams pa, sobrang corny. ang alam lang magpakilig ng tao eh fake naman ang sweetness.

Yes, if you look mestizo, as in looking different from the average ugly filipino. Like if you have a high nose bridge, european eyes, tall (like me). Basically, if you have western facial features.

I have to say that it's not much about talent here as long as you have the looks and you come off as nice in TV or movies.. then I think you'll make it.
