Apparently the pheremones are there all the time...after all the main purpose of them is to attract sex...I don't know where I read it but years ago..I did read an article that studied phereomones and determined that a lot of what we find attractive about someone has to do with their particular pheremones..ie the way they smell. I know when my partner is out of town..as he is now...I can still smell him on the sheets...Don't wanna change them til he's back in 4 days.
so yes I think pheromones are there before the sex act....but I love the smell of sex...no kidding.

Quoting from Our Sexuality 9th ed. (2005) "Although mounting evidence suggests that humans do indeed secrete pheromones, there is insufficient evidence to determine whether or not these substances act as sexual attractants." Animals detect pheromones by a special organ, which "diminishes to a point of nonfunctionality" during fetal development, called the vomeronasal organs.

I think you can sometimes detect them, if you're a sensitive sort, like the kind of person who always knows when the egg has been fertilized at conception time.... (I'm being serious!)

You won't smell them on every guy and know it though. You WILL know when someone's are going off pretty strong though. Sometimes that will lead you to feel more into him or will lead to you feeling icky around the person and wanting to get away as soon as possible.

If I am correct, you cannot consciously detect pheromones..........they are a subconscious thing. You detect them on a level of which you are unaware and they draw or repel you to/from someone depending on your pheromone compatibility.
