I am wondering if tall people, such as myself, can pull off skinny jeans? I am almost 5' 9 1/2" and I want to purchase a pair, but I'm not sure if they would be flattering on me. Are any of you tall and wear the "in" jeans? Also, what is a great alternative to skinny jeans?

It doesn't really matter how tall u are. When it comes to skinny jeans it matters if your thighs are thin or not and if you are thin enough to pull off skinny jeans. No offence, but skinny jeans were specially designed for SKINNY people. THEY LOOK RIDICULOUS ON FAT PEOPLE!! If you are skinny then I suggest you buy them. You'll look like a model. Tall and thin and you are probably pretty too. Make sure to try on at least three different designs of skinny jeans and three sizes for each. You never know how that designer measured sizes. Your old size could be too small in that pair but if you get a size larger it'll look great on you. GOOD LUCK!

The new skinny jeans...ahh. You're tall enough to wear them. You have to have nice legs to pull that look off. If you dont, (like heavy in the thighs, big behind etc), there are alot of different styles of jeans to choose from. It's a look that not alot of average bodies will look good in unfortunately. But then again, those short tops combined with low waisted jeans were worn by many, and in the worst way. Good luck with that!

Get skinny jeans! They look better on tall girls than on short ones! Think about it, all the ads have models which are 5'9" to 6'2" .. and they look great mostly because of the long legs, it makes it look more sexy if anything, haha. You should check out the Gap ones, they have really nice ones and they aren't too pricey. Get them a little longer, the scrunched look on the bottom looks really nice, like Nicole Richie style, hah.
I'm a guy, but even I wear skinny jeans, well, I've been wearing them before they were "fashion" like for 5 years, I used to have to sow them myself.

I'm slightly taller than you and I wear skinny jeans. They make you look amazing. Just make sure you get a pair that fits right, length and width. Muffin top is NOT okay. And jeans that are too short or too long end up ruining the purpose of skinny jeans.

i think it is a good idea to wear skinny jeans because they are very flatering to tall people such as me. of course, there is the matter of finding jeans that are even long enough...believe me i am 5"10 and have trouble find jeans long enough. if you can't find skinny jeans i suggest hollister jeans because they are always long enough for me and stay long enough.

I'm fairly short myself, I think skinny jeans look best on lean taller girls. Really, I think its a matter of body composition than height.
I've found that skinny/straight legs are less intimidating than regular skinny jeans.
