I've recently seen the movie silent hill, what's the deal at the end when she is at her house and her husband is there also but its different for them. He senses that they're there but they arent. Is she dead?

I know what you mean, I was confused too. No, I don't think that Alyssa and her mom were dead. I think it was like that because she and Alyssa were stuck in the Silent Hill dimension still, because remember it was still all grey and ashy on their side, but on his side it was normal (even though they were in the same place)? Alyssa looked at the demon, remember? (after her mom told her not to). So Silent Hill stayed with them, wherever they went.
Ps. I loved the music in that film!

No, mother and daughter are in an alternate world. If you remember at the end of the movie when The mother and daughter were holding eachother when all those other ppl were being sliced up with the barb wire in the church her mom said close your eyes it is only a dream she did not keep her eyes shut but stared right into the eyes of the evil one (twin look alike) and if you notice her eyes rolled back like she was falling into a trance. Okay so at the very end what you are talking about when the mom and daughter come home but in the alternate world the daughter says nothing but goes up to her room but as she leaves she has a very strange smirk on her face.
There is definately going to be a part two. I played the game and I know part two is coming soon. It will definately involve the father going in search of his wife and daughter in silent hill.
I loved this movie the graphics were great and lots of parts were exactly like the game.

I didnt understand it either myself..until I did some reading up on it...I guess first there were video games and out of the video games they made a movie...except they changed a lot of things for the movie. They are dead and in some kind of dimension. The video games sound like they would be awesome.

It had something to do with her daughter looking into the eyes of that other little girl. It's explained better than I can say if you go to imdb.com and read the message boards for it.

I assume that her and her daughter kicked the bucket. Remember that the mom got stabbed in the chest. She was dead from there on out. The ending was a little out of the ordinary. the daughter, i think, was possessed by the demon and died when her soul was replaced . Its hard to say because there was no specific way to know.

they're dead. and the part in the end where the husband senses that they're there but they arent... well, it's just the soul of his wife and kid.

i think that they died in the car crash in the beginning. and i think that the cop died in her motorcycle accident. maybe silent hill was some form of hell. then they served their purpose so now they wander the earth....but still being dead.
