I don't think there's anything wrong with that, as long as you keep a balance and don't go crazy. I worked in retail last year at Christmas, and I really enjoyed all the craziness of it. It's not all bad.

If Jesus returned to the earth today, what would he think about the rank commercialism of Christmas? Two thousand years ago, Jesus visited the temple in Jerusalem. He was outraged by money changers and vendors who were taking advantage of a Jewish religious festival to make money. “Take these things away from here!” he said. “Stop making the house of my Father a house of merchandise!” (John 2:13-16) Clearly, Jesus did not approve of mixing commerce and religion.

According to the newspaper The Scotsman, Anglican bishop David Jenkins believes that Christmas commercialism is driving people to the point of nervous breakdown. “We worship greed and Christmas becomes the feast of greed and folly,” he said, adding: “Ordinary persons are made miserable by their credit card debts. . . . There is increasing evidence that after Christmas people get into despair and have family rows. It is increasingly causing more trouble than it is worth.”

I personally don't like it. People in stores start shoving or pushing the holiday on you in Octiober. To me it's all about the money, and not anything what the Christmas Season is really about.

I guess if you want to enjoy it there's really no one stopping you, but I hope that you remember who the season is about and not what it's become. God Bless!!
