Why don't you come out and call a spade a spade. I never knew that the Roman Catholic faith was called the "Religion of Peace" I was raised a Roman Catholic so I know a little bit about its history. Yes, it did torture heretics during the Inquisition and as far as I can remember it was not just a few individuals who did this. It was official Church policy and even if it wasn't nobody in the Holy See condemned the torture or did anything to stop it. Why did they torture people. I think the answer is simple. They were in power and they didn't want to relinquish it.

Most religions are usually carried with strong emotion. They are also ambiguous in their meanings. When someone with great charisma comes to prominence with a distorted view, usually bad things will happen. The Muslim extremists of the current times are also an example of this. The best way to combat this is through education. Let people have the sense to decide for themselves.

Because it wasn't the religion, it was as couple members who practiced. That's like saying that all Muslims are responsible for 9/11, it's just not true and is an ignorant statement. The religion is not responisble, neither Jesus nor the prophet Mohammed would hae condoned it, it was people acting in the name of religion.

Youll notice in the Bible it doesnt condone behavior like that and things like that happen when radical idiots get zealous and have an agenda.
